Mass Extinction
Many of us associate the year of 2012 with natural disasters. Sometimes they take so many human lives, that it is even hard to compare to the dead and wounded in the world wars. Nature is constantly trying to take a total control over the number of species and populations of each species separately. These include victims of natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, volcanic eruptions, however, more are killed in the history of the planet from viruses and bacteria, which are also part of the overall ecosystem. It should be a little angry nature, and only a slight increase in average temperatures in summer can already lead to many drought and famine in many parts of the world. Self-regulation is her main hobby, and from time to time, “Miss Earth” leads to the extinction of some species, in consequence of which is a global cataclysm, and the gradual survival of another.
Mankind is trying to survive in various extreme conditions for many hundreds of thousands of years . Today many reputable scientists say that another mechanism of extinction of modern species is already running and it could not be stopped. Earth has entered into another round of evolution and when it is going to be completed, hundreds of species of animals and plants are going to disappear. Extinction of species has begun … Representatives of the International Fund for Nature say that examples of such events on the Earth are already revealed, some of them are well known to us, others covered with a veil of time. The extinction of the dinosaurs is still a mystery, as modern science simply does not have precise evidence about what happened. Millions of years ago, reptiles died out and gave freedom to the evolution of mammals.
The latter species extinction occurred about 75,000 years ago when during the eruption of Toba megavulkano on the territory of modern Indonesia, became extinct of more than 90 species of plants and animals. It all happened in just a few decades, as this was the cause of sudden global cooling and the average temperatures on Earth have gone down by 20-30 degrees. The mankind has found the strength to survive such events. Today, we are smarter, but a sufficient number of people without the animal and plant foods will fail to survive. Currently under threat of extinction are about 20,000 species of flora and fauna, which is more than half of all species on the planet. Moreover, most of us just does not think about it, we still strongly exacerbates an already difficult situation of deforestation, harmful emissions and toxic waste burial sites, instead of processing them. Extinction of species on Earth is underway and “thank you” to humanity for accelerating the process.
